Nittany Valley 950th

What an awesome weekend! Starting Friday, I meandered up the road into PA taking my sweet ass time and still getting to the site about an hour early, went to find a bar and ended up at Ruby Tuesday's for a steak burger and 2 big Yuengling's. I asked but they did not have Iron City there, must've been too far east of Pittsburgh. After awhile, it was time to go to the site. Enjoying the beautiful weather with the roof open, the breeze blowing, the tunes cranking and a good buzz just kicking in...yep, you guessed it, I overshot the entrance by about 5 miles. Turning around at the first place I was able, I decided a high speed run down the backcountry roads was in order. Yep, missed the entrance again. Deciding to opt for a more pacific approach, I made it in and proceeded to set up camp.

Folks wandered in from all over the place, with the 70's music setting the tone, the frisbee's came out, the hot tub showed up and work started on the shower set up. I spent a bit of time meeting new hashers, running across old friends not seen in some time, Europe'an Whore wandered in and we caught up while drinking some good Begian ale. It was shortly after this that I was wandering over to the keg truck to reload, where I saw BBC from Albuquerque getting out of a vehicle. We both did the point and "I know you" routine and settled in for some beers just before the start of the Friday trail. We loaded up our mugs, got on the bus and headed out for trail; the whole bus singing all the songs we all know so well. Trail was fast, unhasher-like fast, maybe-I-shouldn't-have-drank-6-beers-before-the-hash fast. After resigning to stick with the real pack, we wandered to the beer check. What a beer check this was...600-700ft of vertical, knee-popping, ass-kicking, rocks and dirt. Beer and water all around, then more beer and then back down 600-700ft of ass-busting, hasher-sliding rocks and dirt and on to trail. The rest of trail was good and even though Dead Man Walking and I decided to "zen" trail aka long cut a short corner, we hit the circle. Great circle! Lots of beer and good times. Saturday's events to follow.
